Several Connecticut law firms have recently expanded their presence in Boston, citing opportunities to serve clients and recruit talent in New England's largest economy.
The trend comes as Connecticut continues to compete with Boston for businesses, workers and investment. In recent years, companies including LEGO have relocated their U.S. headquarters from Connecticut to Boston, joining General Electric and Alexion Pharmaceuticals.
At the same time, Connecticut economic development officials have long argued that the state's location between Boston and New York is one of its greatest competitive advantages, giving businesses access to two major markets. Others say that same proximity makes it harder for Connecticut to retain companies and talent.
