Job Description

Hartford Business Journal (HBJ) seeks a high-energy sales professional to drive revenue for our year-round special projects—custom publications, events, and digital initiatives. This part-time, remote role is ideal for a self-starter who excels at building relationships, managing project-driven sales cycles, and closing new business. If you thrive on creating new opportunities, closing deals, and seeing your efforts translate directly into revenue, we’d love to hear from you. Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience: 2–5 years in B2B sales, advertising sales, sponsorship sales, or media sales (print/digital/events preferred).

Sales Skills: Proven ability to develop new business, manage pipelines, close deals, and meet or exceed sales targets.

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Ability to craft compelling sales pitches tailored to client needs.

Relationship Management: Strong ability to build and maintain client relationships with local and regional businesses.

Personal Qualities: Self-starter, highly organized, goal-oriented, adaptable, and collaborative team player.
