Lisa Zaccardelli is a partner and chair of Hinckley Allen’s Labor & Employment Group. As a practitioner, she is focused on delivering strategic solutions for complex employment litigation matters.
At the same time, her management role requires her to develop long-term growth strategies, mentor and develop the next generation of legal talent, and foster seamless collaboration across other practice areas. She also provides guidance to the firm’s executive management on internal matters.
Her team delivers legal counsel on wage and hour issues, employment, non-compete and non-disclosure agreements, workplace harassment and discrimination, and more across the firm’s geographic footprint.
What have been your biggest professional accomplishments so far?
I honed my skills at a small local firm before stepping onto Hinckley Allen’s much larger stage. Since leading the practice group from my perch in Hartford, I’ve assembled an amazing team and grown our business across all markets every year, delivering the firm’s skills and services to more clients.
What’s the next big goal you want to accomplish professionally?
I am excited to continue expanding our team’s reach in Florida and Illinois, where Hinckley Allen opened new offices last year. It will be a rewarding opportunity to tailor the skill set, knowledge and work ethic we developed to the needs and culture of these new and disparate areas of the country.
What’s one of the biggest professional challenges you’ve overcome?
After law school, I practiced for decades at a small Farmington firm. Transitioning from a zone of comfort to the dynamic culture at Hinckley Allen was daunting. But, I may never have known about my latent management and business skills without the jolt, and I am now so grateful for it.
How are you involved in the community?
Nationally, I serve on the board of SADD Nation, while locally, I’m an active board member of the Hartford County Bar Association (the nation’s oldest) and Greater Hartford Legal Aid.
Last year, the organization honored me as Hartford’s Pro Bono Lawyer of the Year for helping broaden vital access to the legal system.
What legacy do you want to leave after your career is over?
I always put my clients’ needs first and served them to the best of my ability every time. I want to leave my department and firm with the next generation of ever-better legal talent and a deep culture of collaborative excellence long after I’m gone.
