Hooker & Holcombe crafts retirement plans to help clients’ employees save for retirement.
Employee Benefits: Employees who work 30-plus hours per week earn one week of sick time for each year of service, capping at 10 weeks.
COVID Response: Due to the closeness of cubicles, employees were assigned days to come to the office and can trade off with a partner so distancing remains in place.
Employee Recognition: Food is a big part of the firm’s culture. It serves breakfast to celebrate new hires and earned designations. Employees worked from home most of the last year and received emails to “have a snack” to celebrate teammates.
Fun & Relaxation: A KARE Committee takes care of employees with breakfasts, Yard Goats games and other events. During COVID, they kept up morale with emails celebrating employees, achievements and holidays.
Healthy Living: The firm typically competes in road races as part of the Health & Wellness initiatives. This year employees competed in virtual road races for the UConn and Hartford marathons.
