What do you do in your current job?
I oversee the company’s law department, government affairs and compliance. I also chair The Hartford’s Environment Committee.
What have been your biggest professional accomplishments over the past year?
Being part of a team that has helped The Hartford navigate the COVID-19 pandemic by keeping the health and safety of our employees and communities front and center. We did this while continuing to serve our customers and maintain our high standards of ethics and compliance.
In what ways are you involved in the community?
I proudly chair the MetroHartford Alliance Board of Directors, which is aggressively driving economic development with a new set of tools and resources for the benefit of the city, all its neighborhoods and the Greater Hartford region.
I also serve on the boards of iQuilt, CRDA and Junior Achievement of Southwest New England, each of which play a key role in the region. As a representative of The Hartford’s dedication to the Capital City that our company has called home for 211 years, I seek out every opportunity I can to support the city where I have spent the vast majority of my adult life.
I’ve served on countless not-for-profit boards focused on the well-being and vibrancy of the city of Hartford — painting houses in the Asylum Hill neighborhood and helping to clean and replant cherished parks and green spaces within the city. Not only do I give my time to organizations that support the city and its residents, I also enjoy frequenting the innumerable arts, entertainment and restaurant offerings in Greater Hartford.
What’s your guiding business principle?
Do the right thing in the service of all stakeholders.
