What have been your biggest professional accomplishments so far?
Over the last 20-plus years, I’ve guided or led countless cross-functional initiatives, including the creation of a new distribution company, corporate rebranding during our company acquisition, direct-to-consumer channel launch, mobile app development and Nassau’s web cloud migration.
In addition, I’ve played an integral role in our growth supporting go-to-market strategy for new annuity products and fostering strong external partner relationships.
What’s the next big goal you want to accomplish professionally?
My next big goal is likely pursuing another advanced degree or other program to further my knowledge and skills. There are some interesting business degree programs emerging that include a STEM or AI designation. With my daughter heading to college soon, it could be a great time to return to school myself. Why not?
What’s one of the biggest professional challenges you’ve overcome?
I’ve been fortunate to have a steady and long tenure with Nassau and navigated through many company and organizational changes over the years. One of the biggest recent challenges was remote work and school during the pandemic. It was a period of uncertainty, but Nassau pivoted quickly to support us with technology and flexible policies that made the circumstances manageable and allowed my team to still thrive.
How are you involved in the community?
I’ve served in leadership and volunteer roles for several local nonprofits, including currently for Camp Courant (board member), Hartford Public Library (ambassador), and United Way Women United (leadership council). Past involvement includes Leadership Greater Hartford (board chair), The Amistad Center for Art & Culture (event chair) and Power of the Purse (event chair). I am also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and Jack and Jill of America Inc.
