Founded in 1922, PEPCO has designed and manufactured electrical distribution and control systems for military, commercial and industrial applications.
Good Times: PEPCO’s headquarters has 160 fruit trees. Every few weeks during the summer, employees hold a picnic and pie contest featuring in-season fruit. Prizes are awarded for the top three entries, as well as best-looking pie.
Other events include an annual clambake for employees and their families, featuring a bounce house, go-karts, petting zoo, obstacle course and lobsters. Each spring, employees plant a garden with about 500 plants.

Employee Recognition: PEPCO marked one year without a work-related lost-time incident, with all employees receiving a $25 gift card. Other accomplishments are shared on the company’s shop-floor messaging app.
Employee Benefits: PEPCO pays 80% of medical expenses for employees and dependents, and 80% of dental costs. The company offers full maternity and paternity leaves and 14 paid holidays.
