Tim Cote is the business development manager at The Berlin Steel Construction Co., where he helps drive strategic growth, client relationships and project development across Connecticut and New York.
Beginning as an intern nearly 15 years ago, he advanced through engineering and project management while earning an MBA and his professional engineers license. In his current role, he helped drive one of the company’s highest revenue years in its 125-year history.
What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?
One of my proudest accomplishments was overseeing more than $50 million in steel-related work at Electric Boat. The project will support approximately 1,400 skilled shipbuilding jobs and contribute to the Columbia-class submarine program, one of the nation’s most significant defense initiatives.

How are you involved in the community?
I helped found the Ryan T. Lee Foundation following a tragedy that impacted our community, and I have served on its board of directors for the past 15 years. Through fundraising and volunteer leadership, the foundation has donated more than $1 million to individuals and organizations throughout our community.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I focus on family and staying active. I enjoy spending time with my wife and two daughters as we eagerly await the arrival of our third child. Whether exercising, enjoying outdoor activities, volunteering or supporting local events and organizations, I value opportunities to strengthen the communities where I live and work.
