Jordan Seaver serves as senior director of infection prevention at Hartford HealthCare (HHC), leading systemwide programs across nine hospitals and supporting more than 500 ambulatory sites.
A registered nurse since 2012, she holds a master’s degree in nursing in public health and is certified in infection control (CIC). Through her strategic leadership, she advances high-quality care for over 28,000 patients daily, driving measurable improvements in patient safety and strengthening healthcare outcomes across Connecticut.
What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?
Privileged to lead a team focused on proactive prevention and evidence-based practices, we achieved a 50% reduction in hospital-acquired infections over five years, eliminated federal penalties for four consecutive years, generated millions in annual savings to support affordable care, and enabled hundreds of patients to heal without preventable complications.
How are you involved in the community?
I have led community-based education initiatives on Narcan administration, sexually transmitted infection prevention and smoking cessation in rural communities. I remain actively engaged through animal rescue volunteering and support HHC initiatives, including medical missions, educating communities on fundamental prevention practices such as hand hygiene and vaccination.

What do you like to do outside of work?
My cup is filled by spending time with family, especially my two young sons, and close friends. You can find me at the local lake as I enjoy staying active outdoors, whether kayaking, kneeboarding or bike riding. I also enjoy home renovation projects and have recently begun beekeeping.
Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty?
Developed and implemented the HHC Infection Prevention Champions program, training over 500 registered nurses on best practices and policies.
Supported infection prevention efforts throughout the COVID-19 pandemic by ensuring workforce protection, equipment sustainability and clear, consistent implementation of evolving clinical guidelines.
Selected as a Greater New York Hospital Association Fellow and APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology) New England program director, reflecting regional leadership in public health.
