Many women are taking all the right steps in Connecticut — seeing their primary care provider, OB/GYN and even a therapist — yet their care often feels fragmented, forcing women to piece it all together without support.

The Modern Woman Health and Wellness Center aims to change that by bringing primary care, gynecology, mental health and lifestyle guidance under one roof.

In a spa-like environment, the center offers a setting designed for comfort and support, with a model intended to give women access to more comprehensive, coordinated care.

What have been the organization’s significant accomplishments in the past year?

This year, we secured more than 500 five-star reviews, welcomed thousands of new clients — many from underserved populations — and expanded our team with new hires.

We earned grants and invested in staff development, including perinatal certification for therapists and doula professional training. We also launched clinical-grade, natural supplements to provide healthier, evidence-based options for prevention and long-term wellness.

Our model delivers more efficient, cost-effective care while emphasizing prevention.

Beyond medical services, we’ve helped clients build connections, earn promotions, gain acceptance into universities and so much more. We are advancing women’s health and creating opportunities for generational change.

What are some major challenges the organization had to overcome?

We started this practice with no finances or oversight — just two first-generation leaders in Waterbury determined to make a difference. We invested our life savings, which includes an entire police pension, believing in our innovative approach.

Through resilience, teamwork and community trust, we transformed obstacles into a thriving, groundbreaking healthcare model.

What’s the organization’s next major goal?

Our next goal is visibility. We’ve built this practice humbly, with no marketing, growing quietly under the radar. Now we’re ready to let Connecticut know we are here. We’re expanding awareness so more women and families can access our innovative, comprehensive model of care.
