Vivian Pereda serves as director of CampusCare Operations at Hartford HealthCare, overseeing student health, counseling and sports medicine services across seven Connecticut college campuses.

Under her leadership, CampusCare has facilitated more than 21,000 student healthcare encounters, ensuring timely, integrated care through Hartford HealthCare’s expansive network. Pereda collaborates closely with academic institutions to develop customized health and wellness programs that align with each campus’ unique culture and needs.

What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?

My most significant professional achievement is the tangible impact of CampusCare — from arranging same-day specialist appointments for student-athletes to enable them to compete, to identifying life-threatening conditions during clinic visits and coordinating immediate emergency care, thereby safeguarding student health and wellbeing.

How are you involved in the community?

Embedded within each partnered campus, I address diverse health and wellness needs — from implementing injury prevention strategies, to reducing ACL tears, to leading response efforts following traumatic events. With my team, I collaborate with health experts to educate students on proactive and preventive healthcare practices.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I cherish spending quality time with my family, seeking out new experiences and adventures that we can enjoy together, fostering strong familial bonds and creating lasting memories.

Fun Fact: In the past year, I visited all three points of the Bermuda Triangle.
