Jacky Rose is the executive director of ALS United Connecticut, where she has worked for nearly 15 years, starting as the office administrator and then managing all events and development.

Since becoming executive director in 2021, Rose has led the team through a major organizational restructure. She has expanded local programs, added two new positions to the staff, made major research investments and grown fundraising through major gifts, events and foundation support.

What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?

During my time as executive director, we underwent a major restructure to preserve our local impact and services. We rebranded, set new mission priorities and developed updated policies. Despite the uncertainty and added workload, we successfully retained all staff and remained focused on supporting the ALS community throughout the transition.

Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty?

• Compassionate leader, focused on local care for people affected by ALS and their families and ending ALS.

• Continue to adapt and expand local programs to help those living with ALS, including a new Smart Home Program.

• Increased revenue by 17% in three years as executive director.

How are you involved in the community?

In addition to attending so many impactful events throughout the state for ALS, I also am involved in my local community. I have two daughters, ages six and eight, so I am actively volunteering in their schools when I can, treasurer of Girl Scouts, and sports teams.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I have an amazing family and am lucky to live near so many of them. So, if I am not with them, I like to attend book club meetings, Orangetheory/Peloton, go to concerts and watch my daughters’ sports.

Fun Fact: In May 2025, I rang the NY Stock Exchange bell for ALS Awareness Month.
