What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?

I managed the construction of an insulated concrete forms home in Hartford in 2022. It’s a construction method where foam forms are used to create the walls and then filled with concrete. The project received a Connecticut Green Building Council award in 2022, and a U.S. Department of Energy Zero Energy Ready Homes Housing Innovation Award in 2023. This also led me to becoming certified as a Nudura insulated concrete forms installer.

Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty?

• Managed Habitat for Humanity of North Central Connecticut’s first 10 home Zero Energy community.

• Passionate about building energy-efficient homes because I believe everyone deserves a safe and healthy place to live. This has led me to become certified as a passive house tradesperson.

• As a Latina woman in construction, I am dedicated to providing a workplace that is inclusive, encourages growth and collaboration.

How are you involved in the community?

Working for Habitat for Humanity and building homes for families in Hartford County has provided a direct connection to the community. I get to interact and build alongside the families, as well as the volunteers who make our mission possible.

What do you like to do outside of work?

Most of my time outside of work is spent with family and friends. Having a sense of community is important to me. I find myself going to concerts, singing karaoke, hosting dinner parties with friends and buying too many houseplants.

Fun Fact: My dream is to create a metasequoia forest bonsai.
