Bridget Dunn serves as head of government affairs for Talcott Financial Group. She is responsible for the regulatory and legislative advocacy, trade association oversight and political engagement for the enterprise.

Dunn has more than 10 years of experience working in government affairs in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Talcott, she worked in government affairs for The Hartford and she also worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the Executive Office of Elder Affairs.

What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?

As Talcott’s head of government affairs, I helped establish a government affairs program in 2018. Through my advocacy efforts and focus on political engagement, Talcott was able to strengthen our regulatory and legislative relationships. Additionally, industry peers elected me to serve as chairperson of two insurance trade associations for 2025.

Why do you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty?

• Built and continue to develop Talcott’s government affairs program, helped to cultivate strong relationships with domestic and international regulators and secured leadership roles in key industry trade associations.

• Known for my integrity, advocacy and expertise in complex insurance issues within the industry and regulatory community.

• Assisted in establishing our company’s corporate partnership with Junior Achievement’s Connecticut chapter and facilitated Talcott’s adoption of a local elementary school in Hartford to teach financial literacy through the “JA in a Day” program.

How are you involved in the community?

I helped establish Talcott’s partnership with Junior Achievement’s Connecticut chapter and co-lead Talcott’s annual “JA in a Day” event. In 2025, I recruited more than 40 volunteers to teach financial literacy to students. I also serve on the board of directors for the Wolcott Circle of Sports, which provides college scholarships to student athletes.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I am an avid runner and enjoy traveling to places like Africa, Europe and the Caribbean. I love delving into good books or listening to fascinating podcasts. Above all, I cherish spending quality time with my family and friends, creating lasting memories with my niece and nephews.

Fun Fact: I have completed four full marathons, 17 half marathons and have run in countless other races.
