Since 1968, Pat Munger Construction Company Inc. has been a trusted design-build, full-service general contractor serving commercial clients across the Northeast.
Its services include new construction, renovations, interior fit-ups, building renewals, repairs, maintenance and sustainable building options, rooted in practical experience, long-standing relationships and a commitment to doing right by clients.
Tell us a bit about your recent accomplishments.
Munger Construction has expanded into subcontracting for the supply and erection of pre-engineered metal buildings across Connecticut and neighboring states. We also established an in-house steel erection team, enhancing our ability to self-perform and improve project delivery.
Our continued commitment to quality and service has been recognized with the House of Heroes Craftsmen of the Year Award — an honor from a nonprofit dedicated to helping military veterans — and multiple Varco Pruden Building Hall of Fame Awards, honoring excellence in construction and client collaboration.

What are your family values, and how do they contribute to your business success?
We believe in doing the right thing — always. Our family values center on respect, trust, strong work ethic, and treating others as we would like to be treated. These principles foster a supportive, high-performing culture that drives employee engagement and long-term business success.
How do you see your business changing in the next five years?
We will continue to invest in training and development, especially for existing team members, to better serve our clients. As senior leadership transitions into mentoring and visionary roles, we’re empowering the next generation — balancing innovation with experience, to ensure sustained growth and continued excellence in the construction industry.
Do you have a business succession plan?
We began implementing our succession plan five years ago to ensure a smooth leadership transition. We’re actively training team members for key roles, including president, director of operations, director of estimating, director of design/preconstruction and finance manager.
Several mid-level staff are also engaged in formal leadership development programs, all guided by our core values and focus: “Build the Best – Be the Best.”
