Free

The CT Department of Labor invites you to a free virtual Employer Seminar, “Putting the Puzzle Together: The Interaction of CT Leave Laws,” taking place on Thursday, June 18th, from 10am to 12pm. This session offers SHRM credits and Connecticut Continuing Legal Education credits for those who are eligible.

This seminar is designed for employers, HR professionals, and anyone responsible for navigating employee leave. You’ll gain clarity on the complexities of Connecticut’s leave landscape and learn how different laws interact in real workplace scenarios.

We’re excited to be joined by experts from the CT Department of Labor’s Legal Division: Heidi Lane, Legal Director, and Brendan Mahoney, Staff Attorney. Together, they bring over 35 years of experience in Family and Medical Leave, with deep knowledge of both federal and state requirements.

What you’ll learn:
• Eligibility criteria under CTPL, CTFMLA, federal FMLA, and Paid Sick Leave
• How much leave time employees are entitled to under each law
• Key differences in definitions across leave laws
• Employer and employee responsibilities
• Additional resources to support compliance
