Greater Hartford Go Red for Women Luncheon
March 19 @ 11:30 am - 2:00 pm
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) continues to be the No. 1 killer of women. Nearly half of women over age 20 are living with some form of CVD. Additionally, women experience unique life stages, such as pregnancy and menopause, that can increase their risk of developing CVD. Even more startling is the fact that only about half of women are aware that cardiovascular disease is their greatest health threat.
Go Red for Women encourages awareness of the issue of women and heart disease, and also action to save more lives. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power women have to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease. It challenges them to know their risk for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also gives them the tools they need to lead a heart healthy life.
The Greater Hartford Go Red for Women Luncheon brings women together from around Connecticut to learn about their risks for cardiovascular disease and raises funds to benefit women’s heart health. Funds raised are used for life-saving educational programs and research.
The 21st Greater Hartford Go Red for Women Luncheon features a pre-program Festival of Red with local beauty and health vendors, music, a Hands-Only CPR experience and more! The Festival of Red is followed by a heart healthy lunch and short program features inspiring speakers.
