Middlefield optical measuring equipment maker Zygo Corp. said J. Bruce Robinson is retiring after a decade as CEO and that it has begun a search for his successor.
Robinson, 67, also will give up his seat on the board and become a consultant to the company once his replacement is aboard, sometime during the second half of Zygo’s current fiscal year.
Executive recruiter Spencer Stuart has been hired to assist the search committee made up of Chairman Bruce Worster and Carol Wallace, chairman of the governance committee, in the CEO search. Robinson also will aid in the search, Zygo said.
Zygo makes optical equipment for measuring fine tolerances in semiconductors and other electronics.
