David K. Zwiener, a former top executive at Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., has been nominated to join the board of rival insurer Conseco Inc.
Zwiener, 55, will stand for election at Conseco’s May 11 annual meeting. He would fill the vacancy of departing board member Doreen Wright.
Zwiener was executive vice president and chief financial officer from 1995 to 2001, and as president and chief operating officer of the property and casualty operations from 2000 to 2007. He also served on The Hartford’s board.
He left in 2007 to join equity investor The Carlyle Group as managing director.
Most recently, Zwiener was chief financial officer at Wachovia Corp., whose banking operations are now part of Wells Fargo Corp.
