Former Xerox and IBM executive Lawrence A. Zimmerman has retired as independent director from the board of New Britain hand/power-tool giant Stanley Black & Decker Corp., a regulatory filing shows.
No successor was immediately identified in Stanley’s terse 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. A company spokesman declined to comment Monday beyond the filing.
Zimmerman, 67, joined the board of what was then The Stanley Works in July 2005 while working as Xerox’s chief financial officer. He later retired as vice chairman and CFO at Xerox.
He also spent 31 years as a finance executive at International Business Machines Corp. before retiring from there.
