The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund honored the winners of its first Zero Energy Challenge with an award ceremony on Tuesday in Hartford.
The first place winners were George and Mary Keithan for their home in Killingworth. Second place went to Jeremy and Karann Schaller for their home in New Hartford. Third place went to Chris Trolle of BPC Green Builders and Etta Kantor for Kantor’s home in New Canaan.
The Zero Energy Challenge asked participants to build the most energy efficient home possible, using green energy for heating and electricity. The goal was a home that took no power off the grid.
