Wallingford’s Z-Medica said it will sell its wound-clotting patch to a group purchasing trust that serves 1,400 acute care facilities.
Tennessee-based HealthTrust will give its members access to Z-Medica’s QuickClot, which is used by the U.S. Military and first responders to treat severe hemorrhages.
The product contains a mineral called kaolin that accelerates coagulation in the body, according to Z-Medica.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
