YWCA Hartford Region CEO elected to YWCA USA board

Adrienne W. Cochrane, president and CEO of YWCA Hartford Region, has been elected to the board of directors of YWCA USA, the national nonprofit announced.

Cochrane, who has led the Hartford-based affiliate since 2018, joins the 21-member board responsible for providing governance, financial oversight and strategic direction for the national organization.

Before joining YWCA Hartford Region, Cochrane held senior leadership roles with the National Urban League movement. She also serves on the boards of Teach For America Connecticut and the Brother Carl Hardrick Institute, is a member of the state’s Paid Family and Medical Leave Authority and serves on the Governor’s Council for Women and Girls.

YWCA Hartford Region said Cochrane has overseen several initiatives during her tenure, including securing the largest gift in the organization’s history and acquiring its Hartford headquarters, which is being redeveloped into the Center for Community Engagement and Impact.
