Trumbull-based Yuni Technologies is releasing the Yuni V2, headphones that will allow listeners to hear 100% of their audio in a single ear, this summer.
The Yuni V2 will allow users with unilateral hearing loss to receive true stereo sound for any music, viewing and gaming experience, according to the company.
The new headphones apply modern research into how a human ear localizes sound in a vertical space. The Yuni V2 plays on the ability of the ear to hear sounds at different elevations by positioning two speakers above and below the ear canal.Â
Founder of Yuni Technologies Daniel Glass was inspired to develop the Yuni after meeting his wife who had unilateral hearing loss. The original Yuni was released in 2013, and a decade later, the V2 is being released addressing user feedback on the original design.
Features of the Yuni V2 include bluetooth connectivity, USB-C charging and reversible headphones.
Pre-orders for the headphones are available through donations on Kickstarter. The Yuni V2 is scheduled to be released in August.
