Youth golf organization First Tee – Connecticut adds new staff

A youth development organization in Cromwell, First Tee – Connecticut, has added new staff and appointed a new board member as it grows across the state.

The staff changes include two promotions and two new hirings.

Mark Moriarty of Bristol was promoted from executive director to CEO, and Mark Murnane of Avon was promoted from director of programs to vice president of programs.

The new vice president of communications and events is Marsha Rupp of Suffield, and the vice president of development and corporate partnerships, a newly created role, is Rochelle Hakim of Fairfield.

In addition, Rick Carbray of Rocky Hill has been appointed to the board of directors. 

Moriarty said First Tee is working to expand its reach in lower Fairfield County, which has been part of its service area since 2017.  

First Tee is an organization that helps kids build strength of character by integrating the game of golf with a life-skills curriculum.
