A new Young Republican Caucus has been formed in the Connecticut General Assembly, and its supporters say they will commit a five-figure amount to targeted House and Senate races this election cycle.
The new legislative caucus was formed by the Connecticut Young Republicans last month during the 2026 GOP state convention at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville.
Caucus leaders said the group will serve as a coalition of young Republican legislators dedicated to “advancing policies that address the concerns of Connecticut’s next generation.”
The legislative caucus will be co-chaired by state Senate Minority Leader Stephen Harding (R-Brookfield) and state Rep. Joe Hoxha (R-Bristol).
Additional members include Sen. Ryan Fazio (R-Greenwich), the endorsed GOP candidate for governor, and Reps. Seth Bronko (R-Naugatuck), Joe Canino (R-Torrington), Joe Polletta (R-Watertown) and Chris Stewart (R-Putnam).
Democrats in the General Assembly hold a 101-49 majority in the House and a 25-11 majority in the Senate.
Connecticut Young Republicans Chairman Patrick Burland said the new legislative caucus will work to elevate issues that matter to young voters, including affordability, home ownership and economic opportunity.
The Connecticut Young Republicans also announced “a five-figure financial commitment” to be spent in key state Senate and House races to elect more young GOP members and defend current incumbents in the 2026 Election in November.
Open to Republicans under the age of 41, the Connecticut Young Republicans are focused on recruiting, training and electing young conservatives across the state.
