Middletown mutual lender Liberty Bank named Paul S. Young its new chief financial officer, effective Sept. 30.
Young will serve as finance lieutenant to David W. Glidden, who joined Liberty in March as president and CEO. Both previously worked at TD Bank.
Young succeeds Thomas J. Pastorello, who retired this summer after 37 years at Liberty, a spokesperson said.
Young was head of TD Bank’s U.S. strategy, corporate development and finance shared services from 2013 to 2016, and CFO of its U.S. commercial-banking desk from 2009 to 2011. Most recently, he was finance chief for Citizens Bank’s U.S. franchise. Other career stops included The CIT Group and Siemens Financial Services.
Young and his family will relocate from New Jersey.
Young earned an accounting degree from Bloomfield College and an MBA from Temple University. He also completed Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business Advanced Management Program.
He is a CPA, chartered global management accountant, and a member of the Americas Regional Advisory Panel of the American Institute of CPAs.
