YNHH ranked in top 20 by U.S. News

Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) has been ranked among the top 20 hospitals in the United States, according to U.S. News & World Report.

The publication’s 2019 “America’ Best Hospitals” rankings surveyed some 5,000 health-care centers nationwide. YNHH tied with Houston Methodist Hospital for No. 20 overall. It also ranked nationally in 12 of 16 specialties.

In each of the 12 specialties, YNHH was ranked higher than in last year’s U.S. News rankings. Psychiatry (ranked No. 9) is now ranked in the nation’s Top 10, while Geriatrics and Pulmonology were both ranked at No. 16 this year.

In addition, Ear, Nose and Throat (No. 19), Kidney Disorders (No. 20), Diabetes and Endocrinology (No. 24), Urology (No. 30), Neurology and Neurosurgery (No. 38), Gynecology (No. 39), Gastroenterology and Cancer (each ranked No. 45) and Heart and Heart Surgery (No. 48) ranked among the top 50 specialty units in the country.
