A national organization that champions women in the workplace has named Yale New Haven Hospital one of the country’s top 10 nonprofit companies for female executives.
The National Association for Female Executives (NAFE) said it chose the Elm City hospital and nine other nonprofit companies based on their commitment to “identify and advance women through their ranks.”
To be considered, companies must answer 200 questions on female representation, particularly at high levels, the organization said. Winners for 2018 will be featured in the April/May issue of Working Mother magazine.
“The NAFE ‘Top 10 Nonprofit Companies’ are leaders in the U.S. that have moved women into top executive positions and created a culture where talented women are nurtured, promoted and thrive,” NAFE President Betty Spence said in a statement.
Others in the Top 10: Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North Carolina; Bon Secours Virginia Health System, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta; H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute; Horizon Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Jersey; Northwestern Memorial Healthcare; Scripps Health; TriHealth; and WellStar Health System.
