Southington manufacturer Yarde Metals will unveil its new 150,000-square-foot, energy-friendly expansion on Thursday at its 189 Newell St. location.
The new building is next door to the Yarde Metal headquarters and will offer inventory and processing capabilities, a function the company previously outsourced.
The facility features green technologies, LED lighting, solar panels and a high-efficiency heating system.
Yarde employs 600 people, including 360 in Connecticut. As part of the company’s expansion, 30 more people were hired this year.
The company is a subsidiary of Los Angeles-based Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co.
