Yard Goats: Price of naming rights confidential

The soon-to-be Hartford Yard Goats minor league baseball team announced a ballpark naming-rights deal with Dunkin’ Donuts, but the team says it won’t disclose the amount.

Team owner Josh Solomon said in a statement that the team has a confidentiality agreement with Dunkin’ Donuts.

However, Solomon said the Yard Goats have guaranteed the city 50 percent of any naming-rights payments exceeding $50,000.

The team has guaranteed the city will receive $225,000 per year, regardless of what Dunkin’ is paying to have its brand displayed around the park.

Travelers signs on

Meantime, on Tuesday the Yard Goats introduced insurer Travelers as one of its “founding partners.’’ Financial terms of the partnership weren’t disclosed.

However, Travelers Executive Vice President Andy Bessette and team officials confirmed the deal includes brandishing insurer’s red umbrella logo and other signage inside and outside the ballpark, as well as naming rights to the Kid’s Fun Zone area.

“The Yard Goats will add a new dimension to the city that will contribute to the continued success of Hartford, and we’re excited to be a part of it,” Bessette said.
