Yard Goats find a home for month of May

The Hartford Yard Goats arduous road schedule got a little easier today with the announcement that it will play nine May “home games” in Norwich.

Originally the Double-A minor league baseball team was slated to play its first 17 home games outside of Connecticut because construction delays postponed the opening of Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford until May 31. The Eastern League of Professional Baseball stepped in and made arrangements to use Dodd Stadium in Norwich in May. Eastern League baseball was played at Dodd Stadium from 1995-2009.

The Norwich solution will give the Yard Goats players and coaching staff the opportunity to get home from the 37-day road trip and get settled in Hartford as they prepare for opening day at Dunkin’ Donuts Park, Yard Goats General Manager Tim Restall said.

Yard Goats season-ticket owners will be able to attend the games compliments of the team. Other sales will be handled through the Dodd Stadium box office.
