Marian Chertow of New Haven, associate professor of forestry and environmental studies and management at the Yale School of Forestry & Environment Studies, will be inducted into the Connecticut Women’s Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will take place Nov. 4 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.
The theme of the 2019 class is “Women: A Force of Nature,” and Chertow is an apt standard-bearer. She is a pioneer in industrial ecology, and a leading researcher and teacher of environmental management and strategy.
Other 2019 inductees include ecologist, conservationist and organic farmer Nell Newman, a co-founder (with husband Paul) of Newman’s Own Organics, and Pequot sisters and conservationists Martha (Matt) Langevin and Elizabeth George Plouffe.
Tickets to the Nov. 4 induction ceremony and dinner are $175. To learn more visit cwhf.org/2019.
