Yale-New Haven’s ambulatory center proposal to get public airing

The state’s Office of Health Care Access will be holding a two-day public hearing on the proposal from Yale-New Haven Hospital to build a new ambulatory center in North Haven.

The $25 million ambulatory center, which was proposed in December, would include a full-service emergency department that would provide urgent care, geriatric primary care, radiology and laboratory medicine services.

Yale-New Haven said it needs the new center because of the growing demand for emergency services, a lack of available on-campus space, and to increase access to its services.

The first day of the hearing will be held Wednesday in Hartford. Day two of the hearing is scheduled for July 13 in New Haven.
