Yale New Haven Health completes acquisition of Nelson Ambulance Service

Yale New Haven Health announced Monday it has completed its acquisition of Nelson Ambulance Service and its affiliates, expanding the health system’s emergency medical services in southern Connecticut.

Yale New Haven Health announced plans to acquire the North Haven-based ambulance service in January.

The acquisition gives Nelson’s patients access to Yale New Haven Health’s resources, while maintaining emergency transport services currently operating from Nelson’s North Haven and Milford locations, according to the announcement.

Nelson Ambulance is based on Quinnipiac Avenue in North Haven, and provides emergency and non-emergency medical transportation throughout the region.
