Yale University’s transformation of a former New Haven brownfield into an energy-efficient home for its new forestry-environmental school is among projects singled out by the nation’s architects for recognition in standout green design.
Kroon Hall, home to the School of Forestry and  Environmental Studies, and Centerbrook Architects & Planners in Essex received the American Institute of Architects’ Committee on the Environment (COTE) award for sustainable architecture and green design solutions.
It is one of 10 projects that will receive COTE awards at the AIA 2010 National Convention and Design Exposition in Miami June 10-12.
Other winning projects and their designers include: 355 11th Street, San Francisco, Aidlin Darling Design; City of Watsonville (Calif.) Water Resources Center, WRNS Studio; Omega Center for Sustainable Living, Rhinebeck, N.Y., BNIM Architects.
