Yale economist seated at Boston Fed

Yale University economist William D. Nordhaus has joined eight other New England business people and academicians on the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s 2015 board of director.

Nordhaus is a Class C director, along with John F. Fish, chairman and CEO of Suffolk Construction Co. Inc.; and Catherine D’Amato, CEO of the Greater Boston Food Bank.

Elected Class B directors: Roger S. Berkowitz, CEO of Legal Sea Foods; Gary L. Gottlieb, M.D., CEO of Partners HealthCare; and Laura J. Sen, CEO of BJ’s Wholesale Club.

Elected Class A directors: Joseph L “Jay” Hooley, chairman and CEO of State Street Corp.; Peter Judkins, CEO of Franklin Savings Bank; Michael E. Tucker, CEO of Greenfield Co-operative Bank and parent Greenfield Bancorp MHC.

Finally, Richard E. Holbrook, chairman and CEO of Eastern Bank Corp., was named the Federal Advisory Council representative for the First Federal Reserve District. The FAC meets quarterly to discuss business and financial conditions with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors in Washington, D.C. It is composed of one banker from each of the 12 Federal Reserve Districts.
