One week after one of its chemists was awarded a Nobel Prize, Yale University said it has its second Nobel, this time in the field of economics.
Economics Prof. Robert Shiller, who helped develop the Case-Shiller Home Price real estate index, will share the economics sciences prize with Eugene F. Fama and Lars Peter Hansen from the University of Chicago.
The Nobel committee said they selected the three for their empirical analysis of asset prices.
The Nobel committee announced last week that Yale Chemistry Prof. James Rothman would share a Nobel in physiology/medicine with two other researchers for their work in building understanding of cellular transport systems.
