Insurer XL Group PLC, which has Hartford and Stamford operations, promoted Chris Dougherty to chief financial officer-insurance.
Dougherty will oversee financial reporting and planning, accounting, budgeting and financial analysis for XL Group’s global insurance operations. He reports to XL Chief Financial Officer Pete Porrino.
He joins XL from Axis Capital Holding Ltd., serving as chief risk officer in its reinsurance operation since 2009.
A Notre Dame grad, Dougherty is an associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
