Norwalk-based printer and copier maker Xerox Corp. said today that it received a contract from Procter & Gamble Co. to help manage the consumer products company’s global print operations.
Terms were not disclosed.
The pact is expected to help Procter & Gamble lower its operational costs by 20 percent to 25 percent, Xerox said. Procter & Gamble, whose products include Gillette razors, Pampers diapers and Tide detergent, also expects to cut print-related power usage by 30 percent and paper consumption by 20 percent to 30 percent a year, Xerox added.
As part of the agreement, Xerox will train Procter & Gamble’s workers on-site. It will also produce a Web portal that can be used for online education as well as equipment procurement. (AP)
