Norwalk data-processing and outsourcing vendor Xerox Corp. won a $72 million state contract to set up Nevada’s health insurance exchange, authorities say.
The state chose Xerox’s cloud-based HIX Solution Suite to satisfy the federal Affordable Care Act deadlines to provide an online portal for individuals and small businesses to compare and purchase health plans.
The exchange is due to go online in 2014 and be self-sustainable by 2015, said Jon Hager, executive director of Nevada’s Silver State Health Insurance Exchange.
