Xerox CFO is Apple bound

Xerox Corp. finance chief Luca Maestri is leaving late next month to become corporate controller at computer- and mobile-devices behemoth Apple Inc.

Maestri, who is executive vice president and CFO, is leaving the Norwalk document and data-services giant, effective Feb. 28.

Chairman and CEO Ursula Burns credited Maestri with strengthening “our financial foundation, which will serve his successor, our company and our shareholders well for the long term.”

Burns noted said Xerox has launched an outside search for a new CFO.

Meantime, Burns said Xerox remains on track to meet its fourth-quarter guidance, which include GAAP earnings per share of 24 to 26 cents or adjusted earnings per share of 28 to 30 cents.

Xerox will announce its fourth-quarter and full-year 2012 earnings on Jan. 24.
