Xand eyes further Northeast acquisitions with new borrowing

Xand, the New York IT company that acquired Access Northeast’s data centers in Hartford and Waterbury last year, said it has borrowed $200 million for other potential acquisitions in the New England area.

Xand said a surge in demand for its collocation, cloud and disaster recovery services spurred it to pursue the debt financing.

Besides Connecticut, the company has data centers in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and New York.

“Xand’s ability to efficiently acquire and integrate multi-state data center and cloud operators in the demanding Northeast marketplace has been remarkable,” said Dan DeAlmeida, a managing director with TD Securities, which arranged the financing.
