WWE, ‘Scooby-Doo’ as silver-screen tag team

Stamford’s WWE says it’s working on a film marrying “Scooby-Doo” cartoon characters with animated versions of the live- and video-action promoter’s wrestling characters, including Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon, to solve an onscreen mystery.

Hollywood’s WWE Studios and legendary film studio Warner Bros. are co-producing the feature film whose cast will solve a mystery culminating at Wrestlemania, WWE Studios Chief Michael Luisi said.

Cost to make and market the film scheduled for 2014 release wasn’t disclosed.

WWE Superstars and Divas, including “Triple H”, John Cena, “The Miz”, “Brodus Clay” and “Sin Cara,” will appear in animated form and lend their voices to the project. McMahon, too, will lend his voice and appear in animated form.

When Shaggy and Scooby win tickets to WrestleMania, the entire gang travels in the Mystery Machine to WWE City to attend the epic event. However, when a mysterious ghostly bear appears and threatens to ruin the show, Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred work with WWE Superstars to solve the case.
