Stamford live-action promoter WWE more than doubled second-quarter profits on increased revenues from attendance and merchandise sales from its “Wrestlemania” events.
WWE netted $14.3 million, or 19 cents a share, in the three months ended June 30, up from $6.3 million, or 8 cents a share, earned the same period a year earlier.
Second-quarter revenues rose to $142.6 million vs. $106.8 million a year ago.
