WWE is Stewart’s first stop after ‘Daily Show’ retirement

Recently retired “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart’s first foray back into the spotlight will take place next week, when he hosts Stamford-based WWE’s second-biggest wrestling event of the year, the company announced.

Stewart will host WWE’s four-hour “SummerSlam” event Aug. 23 in New York. The event will air on WWE Network.

Following a challenge earlier this year from WWE wrestler Seth Rollins, the 16-year Comedy Central host appeared on WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” program, where he kicked Rollins in the crotch.
