Wright named chief investment officer for CT’s public employee pension and trust funds

State Treasurer Shawn T. Wooden has named Edward β€œTed” Wright β€” a former investment principal for the Los Angeles County employee retirement fund β€” as the new chief investment officer of Connecticut’s public employee pension and trust funds.

Wright will assume day-to-day management of the Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds, which has assets valued at over $40 billion, and serve as an advisor to Wooden. The CRPTF, which consists of six state pension funds and nine state trust funds, controls investments for approximately 212,000 state and municipal employees, teachers, retirees and survivorships, as well as funds that support academic programs and grants.
