The owner of the Connecticut-based Wood-n-Tap restaurant chain plans to open its first restaurant outside the state.
The Hartford Restaurant Group’s new restaurant will be at 955 Riverdale St. in West Springfield, Massachusetts.
Co-founders and co-presidents Phil Barnett and Mike Hamlin announced plans to open the new restaurant on Wednesday. It will be the group’s 10th location and with plans to open later this year.
“We are so proud of the success we have had as a business that started on a shoestring,” Barnett said.
Located in an 8,420-square-foot building, the interior will feature a wrap-around centerpiece bar and indoor seating for 300. A new 2,800-square-foot patio will be built as part of the remodeling.
Wood-n-Taps’ menu includes soups, fish, beef, chicken and pasta entrees, salads and desserts along with cocktails, wine and beer.
The original Wood-N-Tap opened on Sisson Avenue in Hartford in 2002. It has locations in Enfield, Vernon, Hartford, Newington, Rocky Hill, Farmington, Southington, Hamden and Wallingford. The Hartford Restaurant Group also owns Que Whiskey Kitchen in Southington.
