‘Women Who Mean Business’ nominees sought

New Haven Biz is seeking nominations for its inaugural “Women Who Mean Business” special edition and awards in the new year.

Six award-winners will be profiled in the March-April 2019 print edition of New Haven Biz magazine. They will also me honored at a luncheon celebration to be held this spring at a date and time TBA.

The publication is encouraging readers to help it identify accomplished professional women across a broad spectrum of endeavor. These may include public and private companies, academic institutions and the non-profit sector.

Eligible women may be senior-level, executives, entrepreneurs or CEOs who have demonstrated outstanding achievement within their industries and who are held in esteem by both the business community and the community beyond.

Nominees should live and/or work for organizations headquartered or with a significant operational presence in south-central Connecticut. Self-nominations will be accepted.

“New Haven has an inspiring history of accomplished women business leaders,” said New Haven Biz Editor Michael C. Bingham. “From Yale New Haven Health President Marna Borgstrom to second- and even third-generation family-business leaders such as Barbara Pearce and Lynn Fusco, our region has a rich tradition of accomplishment on the part of notable businesswomen.

“With our ‘Women Who Mean Business’ issue and awards we hope to continue and advance this record of achievement and accomplishment and shine a well-deserved spotlight on women leaders who educate and inspire us all,” Bingham said.

Nominations may be submitted using the online nomination form found at NewHavenBiz.com, or they may be e-mailed to mbingham@newhavenbiz.com. E-mails should include the candidate’s name, title, organization and qualifications for the honor. Deadline for nominations is Jan. 11.
