New Haven BIZ today announces the seven winners of its 2019 Women Who Mean Business awards, which recognize outstanding achievement by female leaders across a broad spectrum of professional endeavor.
This year’s inaugural awards program generated substantial interest and engagement, with more than 70 nominations submitted to the publication.
“New Haven has a long and distinguished legacy of women leaders in business, as well as government, the arts and other industries,” said NHB Editor Michael C. Bingham. “With this new initiative, New Haven BIZ seeks both to recognize women in positions of leadership who might not previously have been in the spotlight, as well as to provide an example to encourage and inspire the next generation to aim high in their professional lives and in all they do.”
The honorees will be celebrated at an awards luncheon to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 2 at Anthony’s Ocean View, 450 Lighthouse Rd., New Haven. They are also profiled in a special issue of the print edition of New Haven BIZ published today.
